Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

  • Part of the leadership team, the Holistic Health Supervisor translates Jayasom’s Health & Wellness strategy into actionable programs and activities throughout the resort.
  • Ensure the Holistic Health team provides outstanding service to all guests, create holistic treatments and programs tailored to each individual guests’ health and wellness state, to ensure they achieve optimal health by gaining proper balance in life.
  • Drive the development of the Holistic Health operations by monitoring and researching industry trends and guests needs and expectations and as a result introduce new treatments, techniques and services that are in line with Jayasom’s wellness approach and long-term objectives.
  • Ambassador of the company’s wellness and sustainability culture, promote its awareness amongst team members by leading by example.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain effective communication with all departments of the resort to ensure a smooth and outstanding service for all guests.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients, corporate office.
  • Promote a friendly, dynamic and collaborative work environment that includes, open communication, team work, participation, trust, respect, professionalism and fun.
  • Have a complete understanding of own role, responsibilities and company expectations.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, employee guidelines and service standards.
  • Educate resort employees on the holistic programs and modalities available at the resort.
  • Deliver and participate in meetings as required, facilitate seminars and training to internal and external guests.
  • Proactively participate in people and community relations activities and programs and encourage team members to participate.
  • Promote a dynamic, caring and collaborative work environment that includes open communication, sharing of ideas and perspectives, participation, trust, mutual respect, professionalism, fun.
  • Work towards exceeding company’s business targets.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Build a strong and caring team by proactively participating in their selection, training and development.
  • Effectively manage, coach and develop the Holistic Health team including fostering a commitment towards the company’s health and wellness vision.
  • Assign responsibilities to team members and ensure they are working towards completing their tasks and achieving company objectives within the deadlines and consistently provide them with the necessary support and challenging environment.
  • Ensure team members understand how their role contributes to the success of the team, department, property and Jayasom. Equally, how it matters to create change to the lifestyle of the guests and the communities we live in.

  • Provide a supportive and caring work environment where team members are encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, share opinions, perspectives, and discuss problems and mistakes without fear of embarrassment and retribution.
  • Ensure team members have a complete understanding of their role, responsibilities and company expectations, as well as the role of others to help them know whom to ask for information/support when required.
  • Lead with empathy, trying to understand team members’ thoughts and perspectives to gain insight into their emotions and to better connect with them.
  • Frequently assess the skills, knowledge and abilities of team members, and ensure training programs are created and delivered to fill the gaps and to guarantee outstanding service at all times.
  • Provide support to the team so they can deliver as per expectations
  • Set regular feedback discussions with team members, on performance, to set up and follow through tasks/projects, monitor how they are feeling and provide them with the right support and guidance.
  • Nurture teamwork and collaboration within own department, and other property departments.
  • Celebrate successes and recognize the contribution of team members.
  • Foster team members’ commitment to deliver excellent and customized guest service.

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, and leading of the overall Holistic Health section in accordance with Jayasom’s guidelines and local health regulations.
  • Connect with guests and develop professional relationships that foster trust, confidence, harmony and loyalty.
  • Develop, train and implement new holistic treatments and services.
  • Ensure the Holistic Health team consistently uses a variety of treatment techniques to help guests take responsibility for their own well-being and achieve optimal health.
  • Ensure the Holistic Health team consistently delivers exceptional treatments and is confident to adjust the therapies according to the guests’ preferences and health conditions.
  • Remain impartial at all times and ensure the treatments and services fulfil and exceed the guests’ expectations.
  • Ensure the Holistic Health treatment rooms are always clean and neat, with the necessary products and equipment, and ready to welcome guests at any time.
  • Protect and promote the guest’s confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
  • Have a good working knowledge of all Wellness services provided at the resort, including promotional items, visiting consultants, facilities and its capabilities.
  • Ensure the Holistic team members are aware of current and future services offered by the resort and offer suggestions for improvement, expansion or creation of new services.
  • Perform treatments and consultations as and when required.
  • Monitor and analyze guests’ usage of Holistic Health services and develop action plans to increase guest participation and maximize revenue.
  • Responsible for controlling and maintaining the Holistic Health budget, maximizing revenues and lowering expenses.
  • Responsible for the daily Holistic Health financial reports, reconciliations, POs and ensure accuracy before forwarding to the H&W Director.
  • Conduct daily spot checks to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of facilities are maintained, the set-up is neat and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing.
  • Keep updated with local and international Holistic trends and provide timely recommendations to ensure the Holistic programs are updated and innovative while maintaining Jayasom’s core wellness values.
  • Continuously challenge the resort’s Holistic programs and activities and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Consistently monitor guest’s feedback, handle guests’ requests and complaints and take prompt actions to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in PR events as required.
  • Carry out administrative duties such as completion of monthly reports, training, inventory, etc.
  • When not booked with guests, is present at the wellness center or in restaurants to assist operations team with guests’ relations and care
  • Support the operations and help when needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • BA/BSc in Holistic Studies and Naturopathy, or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is an advantage

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a health & wellness resort
  • Experience in assessing and evaluating guests’ overall health and wellness state and develop individualized holistic treatments.
  • Experience educating guests on lifestyle changes and self-care to promote wellness.
  • Experience in managing health practitioners and administrative / coordinating teams
