This Clinical Nurse Lead – Pediatrics is responsible to supervise nursing staff, coordinate clinical operations, and ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

Completes timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needs.

Provides direct care and evaluates outcomes, incorporating principles of family centered care.

Monitors and documents patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions.

Assesses educational needs of patients and significant others considering cultural needs and other special concerns.

Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and/or significant as appropriate.

Validates and documents patient and family understand of teaching.

Administers prescribed medications in accordance with approved policies and protocols.

Carries out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material procedures.

Provides professional leadership and acts as a positive role model and mentor for team members.

Coordinating and managing department meeting, in house training and audits (Quality and Infection control) and managing minutes of the meeting for the department in collaboration with the Service Line Manager

Maintains a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Acts as a preceptor and provides orientation and competence assessment for new and less experienced staff as required.

Liaises with line manager to ensure the department is addressed with the appropriate staffing and skill mix.

Promotes an interdisciplinary team approach based on mutual respect and direct communication between health care professionals to ensure care is delivered effectively.

Measure and monitor productivity. Analyze clinical and non-clinical activity and recognize areas where time efficiency can be enhanced through process revision.

Being involved in the daily management of workload allocation within the specialist area, considering the changing/competing demands and making decisions about prioritization the clinical tasks.

Identify limitations in personal knowledge and skills and plan action to overcome these in consultation with the Line Manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Valid DOH License/EXam Pass or DHA/MOH active license

2+ years in a senior charge nurse position, or equivalent.
