About Racing Analytical Laboratory (RAL)

Founded in 2009, the Racing Analytical Laboratory (RAL) is a government laboratory based in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, dedicated to promoting integrity, fairness, and excellence in animal racing through advanced anti-doping and diagnostic services. Since its establishment, RAL has played a vital role in supporting the UAE’s racing industry by ensuring that competitions are conducted according to the highest scientific and ethical standards.

Initially specializing in anti-doping testing for racing camels, RAL has continuously expanded its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the country’s sporting and veterinary sectors. In 2019, the laboratory broadened its services to include anti-doping testing and diagnostic support for other racing animals, reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding the health and welfare of animals participating in competitive events.
