Established in partnership with UK’s Moorfields Eye Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi brings 200 years of specialist eye care experience to the United Arab Emirates. Founded in London in 1804, Moorfields is considered the oldest and one of the largest centers for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in the world.
The Registered Nurse provides specialized ophthalmic nursing care to patients undergoing eye assessments, treatments, and procedures. The role involves supporting consultants during clinical and diagnostic procedures, educating patients and families, monitoring patient outcomes, and ensuring a safe, compassionate, and efficient care experience in line with organizational and DOH standards. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to promote excellence in eye care and enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized ophthalmic nursing care through comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring of patients with eye conditions.
- Assist ophthalmologists during diagnostic, therapeutic, and minor surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the care journey.
- Administer medications, provide pre- and post-procedure care, and monitor patient responses to treatment in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Educate patients and families on eye health, treatment plans, post-procedure care, and preventive practices to support optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and effectively communicate patient information with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Adhere to M42, DOH, and infection prevention standards while promoting a culture of patient safety, quality, and ethical practice.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, patient experience goals, and departmental KPIs.
- Support a collaborative team environment through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Valid medical license from Department of Health (DOH) as Registered Nurse or eligibility to get one.
- 1-3 years of Opthalmology nursing experience.
- Proficient in electronic medical record documentation.
