Job Description

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Physiology Lab Technician to support practical teaching within the General Medicine Program. This role focuses on preparing lab sessions, maintaining physiology equipment, and ensuring a safe, efficient learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Teaching Support

• Prepare and set up physiology lab sessions (e.g., experiments, demonstrations, practical stations)
  
• Assist faculty during lab sessions and support student learning
  
• Guide students in performing experiments and using equipment correctly
  
• Support demonstrations related to body systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, neuromuscular, etc.)
  

Equipment & Lab Management

• Operate and maintain physiology lab equipment such as:
  
  • Spirometers
    
  • ECG machines
    
  • Blood pressure monitors
    
  • Data acquisition systems (e.g., PowerLab)
    
• Calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot lab equipment
  
• Monitor inventory and ensure availability of consumables and supplies
  

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce laboratory safety procedures and infection control measures
  
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of equipment
  
• Conduct routine inspections and maintain compliance with policies and standards
  

Administrative & Coordination

• Maintain records (attendance, inventory, maintenance logs)
  
• Coordinate with faculty for lab schedules and requirements
  
• Support academic audits and accreditation processes
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Physiology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field
  
• Experience in physiology labs, medical labs, or academic environments preferred
  
• Familiarity with physiology lab equipment and experimental procedures
  
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
  
• Good communication skills in Arabic and English
