Job Description

Reem Hospital is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our growing healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens safely and efficiently while ensuring a positive patient experience and maintaining the highest standards of quality and infection control.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients of all age groups using appropriate venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
• Verify patient identity and ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies and maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Prepare, handle, and transport specimens according to laboratory standards and protocols.
• Provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients during specimen collection procedures.
• Maintain collection equipment and supplies and report any shortages or issues.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with administrative and clerical tasks related to laboratory services when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field.
• Valid DOH License/Eligibility as a Phlebotomist in Abu Dhabi is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of blood collection procedures, specimen handling, and infection control practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
