About the role

VP The Service is hiring an experienced Pediatric Home Care Nurse to provide specialised care for a 1.9 year old child with complex medical needs in a home setting. The role involves advanced tracheostomy and ventilator care, PEG tube feeding and close clinical monitoring, alongside daily comfort and developmental support.

You will work closely with the family and medical team to deliver safe, structured and compassionate care in the home.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full tracheostomy care, including suctioning, cleaning, dressing and surveillance for infection, blockage or dislodgement
• Manage home ventilator equipment, including set up, monitoring, troubleshooting and emergency response
• Administer feeds and medications via PEG tube, maintain site hygiene and monitor for complications
• Monitor and record vital signs, feeds, medications and clinical events on a daily basis
• Support daily care needs, including hygiene, positioning, skin care, comfort and age-appropriate stimulation
• Respond effectively to emergencies, including accidental decannulation and respiratory distress, using CPR and airway management skills
• Communicate clearly with the family and physician, escalating any change in condition
• Educate and support family members on safe care routines and basic emergency measures

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Pediatric Nurse qualification
• DHA license or eligibility to obtain one
• BLS/ACLS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience, ideally with pediatric and ventilated patients
• Demonstrable experience with tracheostomy care, ventilator dependent children and PEG tubes
• Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a home care environment
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, family centred approach

Preferred

• Experience with children with rare genetic conditions
• Previous pediatric home care or ICU background in the UAE or GCC
