Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Microbiology Technologist to join our clinical diagnostic laboratory in Dubai. The role involves performing routine microbiological testing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results, and maintaining compliance with established quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and analyze clinical samples (urine, blood, stool, swabs, etc.)
• Perform microbiological procedures including culture, Gram staining, and organism identification
• Conduct Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) in line with standard protocols
• Operate and maintain automated laboratory instruments (e.g., Vitek, BD systems, etc.)
• Accurately enter and validate test results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Ensure adherence to ISO 15189 / CAP standards and internal SOPs
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, biosafety, and infection control protocols
• Identify and escalate critical/urgent results in a timely manner
• Support internal and external quality assurance programs

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology / Medical Laboratory Science
• Valid DHA License (mandatory)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an ISO or CAP accredited laboratory
• Hands-on experience in culture techniques and AST
• Familiarity with automated microbiology systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
