Senior Technician Electrical
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the organization’s buildings and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
- Maintain and troubleshoot lighting systems, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Ensure all installations comply with local electrical codes and safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Identify and resolve potential issues before they lead to system failures or hazards.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, power outages, and equipment malfunctions.
- Diagnose problems using appropriate testing equipment and repair as needed.
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Assist with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Work closely with other facility team members, including HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance personnel.
- Assist contractors and vendors during installation or repair of systems.
- To operate and monitor the functions of generator, to give deficiency reports to concerned in charge.
- Check the generator, Transformer status and UPS status.
- Take the transformer meter reading every day.
- To maintain a logbook.
- To make electrical modification / Renovation whenever necessary.
- To coordinate with electrical inspection and other activities accurately.
- To inspect the floor electrical rooms and distribution panels.
- To change fuse and cables when required.
- To rectify patient’s room electrical problems.
- To carry out electrical wiring works.
- Provide extra power socket wherever required.
- To discuss with HOD regarding works for the day.
- To actively involved in evolving long-term planning for improvement in the system.
- To perform any related job / work when assigned by the superior.
- Comply with all OSH (Occupational health and safety) and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply with those requirements
- Work in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
- Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
- Maintain building and facility in a safe manner
- Prepare building management plans and budgets
- Prepare for and participate in Emergency management program
- Provide expert advice and information in building and facilities OSH Matters
- Support to develop objectives and monitor achievement of objectives and compliance with HAAD Health Sector OSHMS requirements across all departments.
- Work in all shifts as scheduled by the Head of Department.
- Strictly adheres to organization’s regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, HAAD, JCI and ISO.
- Supports Continuous Quality Improvement and participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service.
- Participates and contributes in scheduled in-service training programs.
- Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates and Management.
- Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
- Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
- Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
Carries out other duties when requested by the Head of department
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the relevant field.
