Job Description
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical departments to gather requirements and translate them into system configurations that improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
- Lead the planning, testing, deployment, and support of new features, modules, and upgrades for clinical systems, ensuring minimal disruption to healthcare delivery.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot applications such as HIS, EMR, LIS, RIS, and PACS in collaboration with vendors and internal IT teams.
- Perform detailed gap analyses and workflow studies to optimize system usability and ensure alignment with best practices in healthcare IT.
- Act as the subject matter expert for clinical systems, providing guidance during project planning, implementation, and system lifecycle management.
- Monitor system performance, proactively resolve issues, and apply system enhancements or fixes in a timely and structured manner.
- Develop and maintain user manuals, training materials, and system documentation to support adoption and knowledge sharing.
- Provide second-line support for application-related incidents, resolving escalations and ensuring timely communication with clinical users.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
- Participate in the design of system reports and dashboards to support clinical decision-making and regulatory reporting.
- Assist in planning and executing change management initiatives related to new system deployments or process changes.
- Liaise with application vendors and consultants to resolve issues, coordinate upgrades, and evaluate new product features.
- Mentor and train junior analysts or application specialists within the team.
- Support integration efforts between clinical systems and other platforms such as ERP, billing, and laboratory systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in clinical applications such as HIS/EMR (e.g., Cerner, Epic, TrakCare) are preferred.
- Certification in healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
- ITIL or project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.

Experience
- 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT with a focus on clinical systems.
