Job Description
This role provides expert clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care across both the Surgical Outpatient Departments.
This role involves coordinating patient flow, managing resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The nursing lead will have a significant experience in surgical nursing, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. They will also be responsible for quality improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Patient Care Oversight: Directly supervises and coordinates nursing care provided to patients in the Surgical OPDs, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices.This includes monitoring patient flow, triage, and post-procedure care.
- Staff Management: Supervises and mentors a team of nurses, including scheduling, performance evaluations, training, and conflict resolution. Provides ongoing feedback and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Quality Improvement: Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and operational efficiency in both departments.
- Policy & Procedure Adherence: Ensures compliance with all relevant nursing policies, procedures, safety regulations, and infection control standards across both departments.
- Collaboration: Works collaboratively with physicians, radiologists, technicians, other healthcare professionals, and administrative staff within both departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Resource Management: Assists in managing supplies, equipment, and staffing levels to optimize efficiency and minimize waste within both departments.
- Emergency Response: Responds effectively to medical emergencies and coordinates appropriate responses.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient care, incident reports, and other required documentation for both departments.
- Training & Development: Participates in the development and implementation of training programs for nursing staff in both departments.
Accountabilities:
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient nursing care within the Surgical OPD.
- Maintaining a positive and supportive work environment for nursing staff.
- Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Assigns tasks and responsibilities to nursing staff.
- Makes decisions regarding patient care within established protocols.
- Addresses staff performance issues and implements corrective actions.
- Initiates and participates in quality improvement activities.
- Approves time-off requests for nursing staff (within established guidelines).
Education & Qualification
- UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Degree in Nursing (minimum two years course duration) And Registration as a Registered Nurse
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an RN, with at least 2 years in a surgical outpatient setting as Senior Registered Nurse or Team Leader.
- Experience in supervising nursing staff.
