Job Role

The Specialist/Consultant Paediatrician at New Royal Medical and Dental Center (NRMDC) will provide high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents while respecting local cultural preferences. This role focuses heavily on providing comprehensive care, patient-centered diagnostics combined with parent/care giver education within a high-volume, state-of-the-art medical center. This full-time role will report in person to the NRMDC Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive physical exams on infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents to monitor growth trajectories (weight, height, and head circumference).

· Track developmental milestones to screen for early signs of speech delays, motor skill deficits, or autism spectrum disorders.

· Manage the Ministry-mandated Immunization Schedule, advising parents on mandatory vaccines and administering optional travel or catch-up immunizations.

· Formulate personalized nutritional plans to address highly prevalent regional health concerns, including childhood obesity, paediatric diabetes, vitamin D deficiencies, and selective eating habits.

· Diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses, such as respiratory tract infections, asthma flares, gastroenteritis, ear infections, and paediatric dermatological conditions (e.g., eczema).

· Oversee long-term care plans for children with chronic conditions, collaborating closely with schools and families to manage asthma, allergies, or juvenile diabetes.

· Perform minor in-clinic procedures, including nebulizer treatments, wound dressing, foreign body removal (ear/nose), and basic suturing or splinting.

· Identify and stabilize medical emergencies in paediatric patients, initiating immediate life-saving care before transferring them to the Emergency Department or Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

·      Provide dedicated maternal support, offering private counselling on breastfeeding techniques, formula feeding schedules, and postpartum infant care to mothers who prefer a clinician.

·      Counsel parents on child safety and accident prevention, focusing on regional safety needs like heatstroke prevention, water safety, and car seat compliance.

Candidate Requirements

Credentials and Experience

  • Degree: MD, MBBS, or equivalent from a recognized medical school.
  • Specialization: Master’s degree, or equivalent specialty certificate in Pediatrics.
  • Licensing Requirement: Must hold or be eligible for a MOHAP license as a Specialist or Consultant.
  • Certifications: Valid Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 5 years of post-specialization experience in a hospital or private medical center environment.

Skills and Attributes

·      Fluency in English, Hindi and Arabic is highly preferred.

·      Familiarity with local healthcare regulations, including Emiratization mandates and compliance guidelines within private healthcare settings preferred.

·      Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable demeanor to maintain patient satisfaction metrics.
