Role Description
This full-time, on-site Optometrist role is based in Dubai. The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations including thorough initial assessments, accurate refractions and recommending appropriate treatments or corrective measures. The role involves addressing specific patient needs, and collaborating closely with ophthalmologists and the wider clinical team to ensure the highest standard of patient care. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient records, staying updated on advancements in optometry, and ensuring adherence to all relevant healthcare standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must have atleast 2 years of experience*
- Western-trained*
- Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing a wide range of visual and ocular conditions.
- Experience in prescribing corrective lenses, fitting contact lenses, and managing refractive issues.
- Knowledge of clinical optometric practices, diagnostic equipment, and optical technologies.
- Clear and effective communication skills to provide patient education and collaborate with healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Commitment to delivering quality patient care, with a detail-oriented and empathetic approach.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset considering the multicultural patient base.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Optometry from an internationally recognized institution; a valid license to practice optometry in the UAE or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience within a hospital or clinical setting, especially in ophthalmology, is highly desirable.
