Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation, the Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics provides specialized, evidence-based therapy services for infants, children, and adolescents. The role supports developmental, sensory, cognitive, and functional growth, ensuring child-centered and family-focused care while adhering to M42 and DOH/DHA policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret referrals and conduct comprehensive developmental assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on standardized and dynamic assessments.
  • Assess and treat challenges related to:
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Sensory processing and sensory integration
  • Visual-motor integration
  • DIR/Floortime
  • Implement sensory integration therapy techniques.
  • Create customized home programs and collaborate closely with parents/caregivers.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive technology when needed.
  • Monitor developmental progress and modify intervention plans accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and goal setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Minimum 6 years of pediatric OT experience in a large hospital setting.
  • DOH/DHA License or eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and sensory integration principles.
  • Excellent communication and family engagement skills.

Preferred:

  • Certification in Sensory Integration.
  • Experience in cognitive rehabilitation for children.
  • Experience in school-based therapy programs.
  • Training in alternate access or assistive communication devices.
