Job Description
Military Medical City Hospital (MMCH) is seeking a qualified Occupational Medicine Physician to establish and lead the Staff Health Clinic, ensuring the health, safety, and work fitness of hospital employees.
The physician will oversee occupational health services for clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring compliance with Qatar Ministry of Public Health regulations and international occupational health standards. The role requires a proactive, prevention-focused clinician capable of designing health surveillance programs, managing workplace risk exposures, and promoting employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Occupational Health Services
- Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and return-to-work medical evaluations.
- Assess fitness for duty for healthcare and administrative staff.
- Manage occupational injuries, exposures, and work-related illnesses.
- Lead needle-stick injury and blood-borne pathogen exposure protocols.
- Provide vaccination programs and immunity verification for staff.
2. Staff Health Clinic Leadership
- Establish and manage the Staff Health Clinic operations.
- Develop clinical protocols aligned with occupational health standards.
- Maintain confidential employee health records.
- Coordinate with Infection Control, HR, and Quality & Safety teams.
3. Risk Assessment & Prevention
- Identify workplace hazards and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Participate in hospital safety committees.
- Support ergonomic assessments and workplace adaptation.
- Contribute to emergency preparedness and disaster planning.
4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Qatar MoPH regulations
- International occupational health standards
- Hospital accreditation requirements (JCI / equivalent)
- Maintain documentation and reporting for internal and external audits.
5. Health Promotion & Education
- Develop staff wellness programs.
- Conduct awareness sessions on workplace safety and prevention.
- Promote mental health and burnout prevention initiatives.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS / MD or equivalent).
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Occupational Medicine.
- Valid license or eligibility for licensure with Qatar MoPH (DHP).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in occupational health, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Experience managing staff health programs in medium to large institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Arabic language proficiency.
- Experience in governmental or military healthcare settings.
- Certification in workplace risk assessment or industrial hygiene.
- Experience in infection control collaboration.
