Responsibilities
- Ensure that each medical exposure is justified in consultation with the referring physician.
- Ensure that the exposure of patients is the minimum required to achieve the intended objective, considering the relevant guidance levels for medical exposure.
- Establish optimized protocols for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, in consultation with the medical physicist and technologist.
- Provide criteria to manage the examination of pregnant women, pediatric patients, occupational health examinations and medical and biomedical research.
- Evaluate any radiation incident or accident from a medical point of view.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Radiology department’s short to mid-term plans to ensure alignment with the Allied Health’s strategic priorities and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE&E and QM policies, procedures, and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.
