Company Description Ghonaim International CO (GIPCCO) is a growing pharmaceutical company founded in 2016 by Mr. Al Saeed Al Ghoniam, with a manufacturing facility in New Borg Al Arab City, Alexandria, Egypt. The company specializes in producing sterile products, including IV solutions, vials, ampoules, and purified water. GIPCCO’s strategy focuses on IV solutions and other sterile products that meet the needs of the Egyptian, Middle Eastern, and African markets. The manufacturing site is located in Block 15, Extension of the 4th Industrial Zone, providing a dedicated environment for high-quality pharmaceutical production. Role Description The Microbiology Section Head is a full-time, on-site role based at GIPCCO’s manufacturing facility in Alexandria, Egypt. This role oversees all microbiological testing and environmental monitoring related to sterile pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing, ensuring compliance with GMP, regulatory standards, and internal quality requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and supervising microbiological analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, purified water, and cleanroom environments, as well as reviewing and approving test results and reports. The Microbiology Section Head leads a team of microbiology staff, sets work schedules and priorities, implements and updates laboratory methods and SOPs, and supports validation activities for sterilization, cleaning, and water systems. The role also involves investigating microbiological deviations, supporting root cause analyses, participating in audits, and collaborating with Quality Assurance, Production, and Engineering to maintain robust contamination control across the facility.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Pharmacy, Science, or a related field.

* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical microbiology, preferably within sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing / IV solutions.

* Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or section-head role.

* Strong knowledge of GMP, GLP, and microbiological testing requirements.

* Hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, water testing, sterility testing, microbial limit testing, and endotoxin testing.

* Good knowledge of aseptic processing and sterile manufacturing practices.

* Experience in handling deviations, OOS/OOT investigations, CAPA, change control, and risk assessment.

* Strong knowledge of Egyptian pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and relevant pharmacopoeias (USP, EP, BP).

* Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-management skills.

* Good command of English and strong documentation/report-writing skills.

Experience: 8+ years in pharmaceutical microbiology, with proven leadership experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
