Job Description
This position is responsible for providing clinical supervision to assigned employees and coordinating unit/area clinical operations with other departmental disciplines to ensure safe, effective and efficient patient care is provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct patient care in assigned unit
- Supervises the delivery of patient care for assigned unit/area
- Maintains adherence to CCAD patient care standards of practice through ongoing coordination and supervision of assigned staff
- Facilitates communication and collaboration among and between unit staff and other departments/units regarding issues of patient care
- Participates in the identification, development and establishment of the patient care program for the unit/area · Serves as a clinical resource for nursing personnel
- Coordinates patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues\
- Monitors and resolves customer service issues and provides feedback regarding satisfaction results to nursing leadership
- Facilitates the incorporation of patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical nursing care.
- Responsible for completing charge capture education and in-service training for their Institute within CCAD. When charges are not captured automatically the nurse will complete within Epic in real time, Perioperative Services within 24 business hours
- Provides ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers in assigned unit/area
- Counsels staff on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions and monitors attendance issues
- Participates in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of staff
- Monitors key performance indicators, including quality, patient safety, and patient and family satisfaction.
- Administers and enforces CCAD, nursing and unit/area policies and procedures
- Helps support quality improvement, accreditation and patient safety projects and research initiatives.
- Ensures assigned unit operates in conjunction with local and international regulatory and accreditation standards
- Participation in the development of nursing schedules.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification (minimum three(3) year curriculum) from an accredited program is required
- Experience
- Minimum of six (6) years clinical experience in an appropriate and relevant healthcare setting post qualification is required.
- Minimim of two (2) years experience in a Senior Charge Nurse position, or minimum of three (3) years in a Charge Nurse position is required
- Strong analytical and organizational skills International accreditation experience is preferred · Indication of progressive leadership, management and clinical positions is preferred.
- Valid and current national license is required
- BLS is required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to speak and write in Arabic is preferred
- Experience with an electronic medical record is strongly preferred
