Our state-of-the-art outpatient facility provides day surgery, outpatient consultations, and comprehensive diagnostic services for over 30 clinical specialties.

The Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of infection prevention and control activities within an ambulatory surgery and outpatient care setting. The role is responsible for surveillance, education, policy implementation, audit activities, regulatory readiness, and collaboration with clinical and operational teams to reduce healthcare-associated and procedure-related infection risks, support safe surgical, procedural, and outpatient care practices, and strengthen patient and staff safety.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor infection prevention and control practices in alignment with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and recognized standards.
• Conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections, communicable diseases, and infection prevention indicators, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and follow-up.
• Support investigation and management of outbreaks, clusters, exposure incidents, and infection-related risks in collaboration with clinical leaders and relevant departments.
• Perform infection prevention audits, risk assessments, environmental rounds, and compliance monitoring, including hand hygiene, isolation precautions, device-associated infection prevention, cleaning and disinfection, and sterilization practices.
• Support infection prevention and control practices specific to surgery and procedural care environments, including safe perioperative workflows, aseptic technique, surgical/procedural site infection prevention, instrument reprocessing, sterilization, high-level disinfection, environmental cleaning, and patient flow considerations.
• Provide infection prevention education, coaching, and competency support for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Contribute to the development, review, implementation, and monitoring of infection prevention policies, procedures, guidelines, and improvement plans.
• Support regulatory, accreditation, and internal readiness activities related to infection prevention and control, including audits, inspections, action plans, and evidence preparation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe practices, reduce infection risks, and support continuous quality improvement.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Microbiology, Public Health, Epidemiology, or another relevant healthcare-related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience in infection prevention and control, clinical quality, public health, epidemiology, or a related healthcare setting, with direct involvement in surveillance, audits, education, outbreak investigation, or infection risk management.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is mandatory.
• Working knowledge of infection prevention standards, healthcare-associated infection surveillance, isolation precautions, outbreak management, hand hygiene programs, sterilization/disinfection principles, and regulatory or accreditation requirements.
