The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating holistic care for dialysis patients. This role ensures safe and effective dialysis treatment, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and upholds high standards of patient safety, advocacy, and education within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • The Dialysis Nurse I demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and respect in caring for dialysis patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring safe, holistic, and patient-centered care.
  • They collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, apply critical thinking, and effectively manage conflicts and clinical challenges.
  • The nurse actively contributes to quality improvement, professional development, and supports organizational change while mentoring junior staff and new joiners.
  • They are responsible for all phases of dialysis care—pre, intra, and post—adhering to evidence-based practices, scope of practice, and organizational policies.
  • With a strong commitment to safety, the nurse administers medications accurately, responds to emergencies, and ensures equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
  • Cultural competence and respect for patient dignity are emphasized, with family involvement encouraged throughout the continuum of care.
  • Through ongoing education, accurate documentation, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols, the nurse upholds the highest standards of care in the dialysis unit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current nursing license in home country and in the UAE.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Dialysis Nurse.
  • Preferably current dialysis experience and with long term care ventilated patient bedside experience.
