Job Description

The Obstetrics & Gynecology GP provides patient-centered, evidence-based care to women across all age groups. The doctor will support antenatal, postnatal, gynecological, and reproductive health services under consultant supervision. Arabic language fluency is essential to ensure effective communication with the region’s patient population and deliver culturally sensitive care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive antenatal, postnatal, and gynecological evaluations in outpatient clinics.
  • Manage routine pregnancy follow-ups and identify any abnormal or high‑risk conditions requiring referral.
  • Perform women’s preventive health screenings, including Pap smears, breast exams, and contraception counseling.
  • Provide management for common gynecological concerns (e.g., menstrual disorders, infections, reproductive health issues).
  • Participate in inpatient care as required and assist consultants with procedures aligned with competency.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Patient Communication (Arabic-Speaking Requirement)

  • Communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking patients to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Provide culturally sensitive education on maternal health, reproductive wellness, and family planning.
  • Ensure a high level of clarity, empathy, and professional conduct in all patient interactions.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow DOH standards, clinical guidelines, and medical regulations at all times.
  • Comply with infection control policies and patient safety protocols.
  • Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement programs, and clinical governance activities.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with OB-GYN consultants, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions where required.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, CME, and training sessions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
  • Valid DOH License as a General Practitioner (or DOH Eligibility Letter).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience, preferably in OB-GYN or women’s health settings.
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken) is mandatory; English proficiency is required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (NALS is an advantage).
  • Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic ability, and patient-centered approach.
