The role is responsible for assisting in the procurement, assessment, installation and commissioning of all medical devices and equipment. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring equipment maintenance, configuration and calibration activities are carried out in a timely and safe manner in line with the established relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (DHA, DOH, MOH, CAP, ISO 15189:2022, EIAC, JCI), ensuring full compliance at all times.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and effective risk management while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the procurement, inspection, tagging, and documentation of biomedical equipment, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded in the management system.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance testing of medical equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment faults using technical schematics, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer documentation, including ordering and replacing faulty components.
  • Maintain accurate records, including work orders, maintenance history, and asset management system updates, ensuring all technical documentation is current and accessible.
  • Inspect and validate all maintenance activities, including repairs, calibrations, and modifications, to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Support clinical teams by providing training and guidance on the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
  • Promote a patient-centred approach by delivering responsive, compassionate service and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and clearly relay regulatory requirements where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience
  • Strong knowledge of biomedical engineering principles, equipment, systems, and tools
  • Awareness of the latest industry technologies and trends
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic
  • No specific certifications or licensure required
