Assistant Manager – MCU – (MNGHS)

As a member of Munich Re the MedNet Group is a leading Third-Party Administrator across the MEA region. We are currently seeking to hire a “Assistant Manager – Medical Care Unit (MCU)”, He / She will Plan and manage all operations in the Medical Department which includes the review, evaluation and authorization of Medical Requests in accord with established corporate and policy guidelines ensuring optimal staffing and smooth operations. Enhance and uphold service quality, SLA-KPIs, Customer centric approach while meeting departmental and organizational compliance goals.

Your Role:

Human Capital Management: Lead and coordinate human capital development by leading training initiatives, mentoring medical teams, and implementing performance and quality measures to drive professional growth and service excellence.

Case Management & Case Steering: Develop and implement case management policies, monitor outcomes, and leverage data-driven insights to optimize member care, manage costs, and enhance stakeholder experience.

Medical Authorization Activities: Provide strategic oversight of medical case reviews and authorizations, ensuring compliance with policies, best clinical practices, and regulatory standards; manage approvals, stakeholder communication, and team development while driving cost optimization and operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Client Relations: Foster strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and service providers to ensure seamless communication, efficient operations, and alignment with strategic goals.

Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimization and service excellence by motivating teams and implementing best practices that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity.

Policies, Systems & Procedures: Lead the development, review, and implementation of policies and standardized processes for medical management activities, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality service delivery.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards across the department, safeguarding compliance and employee well-being.

Reports & Performance Management: Oversee timely preparation of medical and statistical reports to support benchmarking, decision-making, and performance monitoring against business objectives.

Your profile:

  • Medical degree from a school recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • 6 years’ experience of medicine practice of which is at least 4 years in TPA / medical insurance sector as well as 2 years of managerial experience.
  • Experience in the insurance and healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking skills/abilities & Computer Literacy are required.
  • Knowledge of concepts of medical insurance.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to operate effectively with people at all levels of the business.
  • Negotiation skills.
