Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough consultations with patients to assess symptoms and address their medical concerns
- Diagnose and treat a variety of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung-related diseases
- Interpret and utilize various diagnostic tests such as CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies to diagnose cardiopulmonary conditions
- Perform specialized procedures to obtain lung tissue or chest wall lining samples for further analysis
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons to evaluate the risk status of patients and recommend suitable interventions, particularly for tuberculosis cases
- Offer long-term care support and guidance to patients with chronic pulmonary conditions
- Contribute to research efforts aimed at developing new treatment options and medications for pulmonary diseases
- Provide immunizations to prevent preventable respiratory conditions
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patient consultations, tests, treatments, and progress
- Refer patients to cardiothoracic surgeons or other specialists as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of a 4-year internship and clinical residency program, specializing in pulmonology
- Active and valid medical license to practice
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to empathize and effectively interact with patients
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate patient needs
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and treating pulmonary conditions
- Strong research and analytical abilities to contribute to advancements in the field of pulmonology
