Specialist Pulmonologist

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough consultations with patients to assess symptoms and address their medical concerns
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung-related diseases
  • Interpret and utilize various diagnostic tests such as CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies to diagnose cardiopulmonary conditions
  • Perform specialized procedures to obtain lung tissue or chest wall lining samples for further analysis
  • Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons to evaluate the risk status of patients and recommend suitable interventions, particularly for tuberculosis cases
  • Offer long-term care support and guidance to patients with chronic pulmonary conditions
  • Contribute to research efforts aimed at developing new treatment options and medications for pulmonary diseases
  • Provide immunizations to prevent preventable respiratory conditions
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of patient consultations, tests, treatments, and progress
  • Refer patients to cardiothoracic surgeons or other specialists as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of a 4-year internship and clinical residency program, specializing in pulmonology
  • Active and valid medical license to practice
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to empathize and effectively interact with patients
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate patient needs
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and treating pulmonary conditions
  • Strong research and analytical abilities to contribute to advancements in the field of pulmonology
