 Job Purpose / Objective :

  • Perform all types of radiological examinations, requiring fluoroscopy, special procedures, angiography, invasive procedures, Ultrasound, CT scan, MRI scanning within the limit of his/her training, experience and clinical privileges, and with the approval of the Director Radiology.
  • Read and analyze diagnostic images to make diagnoses, recording imaging data and patient history.
  • Deliver radiation therapy as part of a treatment plan and prescribe medications and consult with patients.
  • Participate in Physician/Radiologist conferences.
  • Travel to other sites for discussion of problem cases, and provide support for the clinics outside of the site when requested.
  • Support the Radiology Director in the whole function of the Radiology Department.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement programs of the radiology service.
  • Responsible to work with the technologists and when appropriate to instruct them in specialized views and positioning of patients when unusual or difficult problem arise.
  • Participate in quality improvement program of the service to meet HMG group standards.
  • Participate in the teaching of radiologist, sonologist, technologists and medical education of physicians.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional care in accordance with the International / National Healthcare Standards.
  • Obtain informed consent for all patients in accordance with hospital policy for the undertaking of any diagnostic procedure, operation, test or procedure.
  • Provide reports and information as required by the Consultant/ Head of Department.
  • Play an active role in the education of the patient and his/ her family on a healthy lifestyle. Contributes to awareness and education of the community, in general, on issues related to health.
  • Participate in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Provide orientation, bedside training and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees (interns, residents and fellows) as assigned.
  • Participate in self-and others’ education, training and development as applicable and department’s educational activities and training programs of the department.
  • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.

Perform other miscellaneous related duties that are applicable to Radiology Department and as requested by the Head of Radiology.

Requirements

Education/ Professional Qualification:

  • Graduate of Medical School, recognized by the Medical Council of the country of origin.
  • Graduate of Medical School, recognized by the Medical Council of the country of origin.
  • Completion of appropriate internship and residency programs.
  • Post-graduation qualifications in the specialty.

Experience:

  • At least four (4) years of practice in his / her specialty after obtaining the higher degree In a Tertiary Care Hospital.
  • Subspecialty degree or structured subspecialty training preferred.

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training:

  • Membership, Fellowship and/or Board Certification in the respective specialty.
  • Relevant licensure from the country of origin, acceptable to Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health.
