Job Description
The Senior Specialist supports SEHA’s Corporate Readiness & Business Continuity functions by contributing to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and operational plans for emergency operations, crisis management, and disaster preparedness. The role oversees preparedness initiatives, evaluates facility readiness, and ensures effective coordination during emergencies.
Responsibilities
Key ResponsibilitiesEmergency Preparedness & Response
- Coordinate and follow up on preparedness and response activities across SEHA facilities.
- Provide frameworks and mechanisms for emergency response.
- Supervise health operations required during crises, disasters, and major events.
- Oversee emergency drills and exercises and evaluate outcomes.
- Participate in identifying and coordinating specialized emergency management training.
- Prepare MoUs related to emergency planning and response.
- Assess disaster‑readiness of SEHA facilities periodically.
- Monitor implementation of health plans for nuclear, radiological, chemical, and biological hazards.
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate sessions for SEHA staff.
- Maintain staff training databases, including certifications and costs.
Events & Operational Response
- Support planned and unplanned emergency events.
- Conduct event risk assessments and ensure medical coverage as required.
- Participate in community emergency response exercises.
Compliance & Professional Conduct
- Ensure compliance with SEHA policies, regulatory requirements, licensure, and mandatory training.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold customer service standards.
- Support occupational health and safety guidelines, emergency policies, and infection control.
Personal Effectiveness
- Continually develop skills relevant to the role.
- Build partnerships to support integrated systems of care.
- Support Emiratization initiatives through mentoring and training.
Qualifications
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Medical Sciences, or related field OR Master’s in Health Management or related discipline
- Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency planning or a similar field
- English and Arabic proficiency
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
- Knowledge in disaster planning and management
Desired
- BLS Provider/Instructor, AHLS, PHTLS, HICS
- Knowledge of triage, HAZMAT
- Strong organizational skills
