Role Description The Senior Clinical Embryologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for overseeing and performing advanced clinical and laboratory procedures within the fertility laboratory. Day-to-day tasks include handling and preparing gametes, performing IVF and ICSI procedures, monitoring embryo development, coordinating cryopreservation, and ensuring accurate documentation of all laboratory activities. The role involves maintaining and optimizing laboratory equipment, enforcing quality control and assurance protocols, and supporting compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Senior Clinical Embryologist will collaborate closely with reproductive medicine physicians and nursing staff, participate in case discussions, contribute to treatment planning, and provide guidance to junior embryology and laboratory team members. The position also includes participation in continuous professional development, implementation of new techniques, and support for patient education initiatives related to embryology and fertility treatment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills, including handling biological specimens, operating specialized equipment, and adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Assisted Reproduction techniques, including ICSI, embryo culture, cryopreservation, and related clinical embryology procedures.
  • Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Medicine and reproductive physiology sufficient to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and understand treatment protocols.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in Andrology, including semen analysis, preparation, and processing for assisted reproductive procedures.
  • Relevant academic qualifications such as a master’s degree or higher in Clinical Embryology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline; certification or registration in embryology where applicable is preferred.
  • Several years of proven experience in a fertility or IVF laboratory, with responsibility for complex cases and advanced procedures at a senior or supervisory level.
  • Strong attention to detail, data management skills, and familiarity with laboratory information systems, along with the ability to follow international and local regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, the ability to train and mentor junior staff, and a commitment to ethical, patient-focused care.
