Since its inception in 2010, National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has expanded from a single standalone reference laboratory to a network of 12 state-of-the-art facilities across the United Arab Emirates. NRL provides world-class diagnostic services to the M42 network and partners with more than 250 clients from a wide range of market segments, including private and government hospitals, medical centers and clinics, corporate organizations, and other reference laboratories.

The Analyst, Clinical Applications role sits within the Clinical Applications team under IT, supporting critical healthcare systems across M42. The position focuses on clinical systems—particularly Cerner Lab workflows and integrations—ensuring seamless communication between healthcare applications. The role involves system support, interface development, and collaboration with clinical stakeholders and vendors to enhance system performance and patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain healthcare interfaces to enable seamless integration between clinical systems
  • Collaborate with vendors, analysts, and project managers to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions
  • Support and optimize Cerner Lab workflows, including build and configuration activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and interface issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications and design documents
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards such as HL7, DICOM, and FHIR
  • Participate in system implementation, testing, and go-live support activities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare information systems, with at least 3+ years in Cerner EMR
  • Strong experience in Cerner Lab workflows, builds, and MDI (mandatory)
  • Hands-on experience with integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth, Cerner FSI/OpenView)
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, DICOM, and FHIR
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
