The PICU Nurse will provide advanced, evidence‑based nursing care to critically ill neonates, infants, and children in a high‑acuity intensive care environment. The role requires strong clinical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill paediatric patients in the PICU
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition using advanced clinical skills
  • Manage ventilated and haemodynamically unstable patients
  • Administer medications, infusions, and treatments in accordance with hospital policies
  • Assist with emergency interventions, resuscitation, and stabilisation of patients
  • Collaborate closely with paediatric intensivists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support and educate patients’ families with empathy and clear communication
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and safeguarding standards
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development

Qualifications

  • Valid DHA Nursing License or DHA eligibility
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience in a tertiary or high‑acuity hospital setting
  • Current BLS and PALS certification 
  • Proven experience in paediatric critical care technologies, including ventilators and infusion pumps
  • Strong knowledge of paediatric critical care protocols and best practices
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in international or JCI‑accredited hospitals
  • Exposure to ECMO, CRRT, or advanced PICU therapies
  • Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period
