The PICU Nurse will provide advanced, evidence‑based nursing care to critically ill neonates, infants, and children in a high‑acuity intensive care environment. The role requires strong clinical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill paediatric patients in the PICU
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition using advanced clinical skills
- Manage ventilated and haemodynamically unstable patients
- Administer medications, infusions, and treatments in accordance with hospital policies
- Assist with emergency interventions, resuscitation, and stabilisation of patients
- Collaborate closely with paediatric intensivists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support and educate patients’ families with empathy and clear communication
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and safeguarding standards
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development
Qualifications
- Valid DHA Nursing License or DHA eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience in a tertiary or high‑acuity hospital setting
- Current BLS and PALS certification
- Proven experience in paediatric critical care technologies, including ventilators and infusion pumps
- Strong knowledge of paediatric critical care protocols and best practices
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience in international or JCI‑accredited hospitals
- Exposure to ECMO, CRRT, or advanced PICU therapies
- Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period
