Job Purpose

The OR Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will maintain a sterile environment, anticipate the surgical team’s needs, and ensure maximum patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Operative Care: Verify patient identity, surgical consent forms, and correct surgical site.
  • Intra-Operative Care: Act as a scrub or circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
  • Sterile Field Maintenance: Prepare, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and implants.
  • Patient Advocacy: Monitor patient vital signs and condition continuously during surgery.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate nursing records, implant logs, and surgical count verifications.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and technicians.
Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 3+ years of post-qualification experience in an acute care hospital operating room.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and emergency protocols.
  • License: Active DHA License or a valid DHA Eligibility Letter.
