Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

The Women’s Outpatient Department (Women’s OPD) provides comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare services for women across all stages of life. The department focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of various women’s health conditions, including gynecological concerns, reproductive health, prenatal and postnatal care, family planning, menopause management, and routine wellness screenings. The Women’s OPD is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care through a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring the physical, emotional, and reproductive well-being of every patient.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ health status, medical history, and presenting complaints during outpatient visits.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient documentation and nursing notes.
  • Assist physicians during gynecological examinations and outpatient procedures.
  • Prepare patients for consultations, diagnostic tests, and minor procedures.
  • Provide health education on women’s health, reproductive health, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Counsel patients on family planning methods and contraceptive options as directed by the physician.
  • Monitor and assess pregnant women attending antenatal clinics.
  • Educate expectant and new mothers on pregnancy care, breastfeeding, and postnatal recovery.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collect specimens and assist with laboratory investigations when required.
  • Coordinate patient referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care.
  • Ensure infection prevention and control practices are maintained within the clinic.
  • Respond promptly to patient concerns and provide emotional support and counseling.
  • Maintain and prepare examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and health promotion initiatives.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • DOH/DHA/MOH RN license
