Job Purpose
The OBGYN Registered Nurse delivers specialized, high-quality care to female patients from adolescence through menopause, with a heavy focus on prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological medical management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maternity Care: Monitor pregnant patients, track fetal heart rates, and assist during labor and delivery.
- Postpartum Support: Care for mothers post-delivery, monitoring for complications and assisting with breastfeeding education.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist in gynecological surgeries, C-sections, and minor outpatient procedures.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal wellness, family planning, and post-operative care.
- Triage & Assessment: Perform initial patient assessments, vital sign checks, and triage in the OBGYN clinic or ward.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and treatments specific to obstetric and gynecological care.
Requirements
Degree: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing from an accredited institution.Experience: 3+ years of post-qualification experience in an OBGYN ward, labor and delivery unit, or women’s health clinic.Skills: Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), obstetric emergencies, and patient counseling.License: Active DHA License or a valid DHA Eligibility Letter.
