Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
A Registered Nurse specializing in the Labour and Delivery department, with a strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth experience. Skilled in monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, managing labor and delivery processes, and supporting families during critical moments etc
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management as prescribed
- Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families throughout labor
- Educate patients on labor processes, breathing techniques, and postpartum care
- Prepare and maintain delivery rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready
- Document patient care, labor progress, and clinical findings accurately
- Support immediate newborn care, including resuscitation if necessary
- Promote bonding between mother and newborn after delivery
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care
- Maintain infection control and adhere to hospital policies and protocols
- Support and promote breastfeeding in line with Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) principles. Educate mothers and families on newborn care, feeding techniques, hygiene, safe sleep, and post-discharge self-care to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 5 plus years of experience in the field of labour and delivery room
- Valid DOH license.
