Job Description

  • Collects information on patient status from a variety of sources using assessment skills including observation, communication and physical assessment.
  • Completes Nursing Initial Assessment on all assigned patients at the time of entry to the Inpatient department. Pain assessment MUST be documented as per policy.
  • Plans care needed during the In-Patient visit.
  • Sets priorities when planning and giving care.
  • Initiates prompt nursing interventions bases on changes in the patient condition, age and circumstances,
  • Is adept and knowledgeable with the use of specific equipment used in the assigned department.
  • Is a developing clinical expert within the In-Patient department
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of all patients records according to CSEC standards and policies.
  • Anticipates, recognizes and manages emergencies, and unsafe situations/practice, and initiates appropriate and timely intervention.
  • Influences and facilitates change within the department in order to improve standards of care.
  • Performs all duties in a professional and confidential manner

Qualifications

•    Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. (3 years GNM with DHA RN License is acceptable)
