Job Description

Observation, Assessment and Treatment

  • Primes dialyzer and bloodlines.
  • Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.
  • Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish.
  • Cannulates accesses.
  • Cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters.
  • Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients and interprets and records information.
  • Identifies irregular dialysis reactions and notifies appropriate medical team members.
  • Secures blood works.
  • Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medications, if needed.
  • Maintains medical inventory.
  • Provides pre and post procedure care to patients.
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
  • Conducting home visit assessment for home hemodialysis admission.
  • Following Nephrologist orders.
  • Conducting assessment of a patient when indicated
  • Recommending changes in the treatment based on the current needs of patient
  • Facilitating Communication between the patient and family on one side and the training team on the other.
  • Cooperate with and provide oversight and directions to the dialysis technicians.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement activities.

In-Home Assistance

  • Aids with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, ambulating, turning and feeding.
  • Assist clients with toileting, getting in and out of bed, and transporting them to and from the house safely.
  • Prepares food for the patient as per dietary instruction ordered by physician.
  • Maintains cleanliness within the vicinity of the patient’s surroundings.

Qualifications

 ESSENTIALPREFERRED
Education·     Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in home country.·        Critical care qualification
·    Active Basic Life Support Training- Certified·        Hemodialysis (Adult & Pedia) and General.
 ·        BLS ( for adult patients)
Experience·     2 to 6 years working experience as Hemodialysis RN 
Certification and Licensure·     Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employment ( Local License-PRC) 
·    DOH-HAAD (Health Authority Abu Dhabi-UAE) Licensed
·    Eligible for DHA / MOH licensing
