Job Description
To provide a comprehensive Pediatrics Intensive Care service for King’s College Hospital-.
The post-holder will:
- Be responsible for the management of patients undergoing Pediatric Care Intensive Medicine at King’s College Hospital (KCH) London UAE in multiple areas.
- Provide preoperative consultations, acute & chronic pain services, postoperative management and intensive care admissions and management.
- To maintain the highest standards of care for all patients, including regular audits and presentations.
- Teaching and giving support to more junior members of the department.
- To adhere to the manifesto of care expected of all physician at King’s College Hospital.
Key Accountabilities:
Clinical
- Provide an expert opinion and manage patients who attend King’s College Hospital-. requiring Pediatric Care Intensive Medicine.
- To provide critical care management of patients according to established standards of best practice.
- To provide a safe critical care management.
- Comply with the established King’s College Hospital-. practices.
- Comply with the requirements of the regulatory UAE medical health authorities with respect to all professional practices.
- To advice and perform the necessary procedures together with obtaining approval from the relevant healthcare insurance company prior to performing such procedures.
- Accurately document all relevant patient information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with King’s College Hospital-. health record keeping policy.
Clinical Governance & Personal Development
- Attend all relevant clinical meetings unless on approved leave.
- Participate fully in all aspects of clinical governance making a significant contribution to clinical audit and risk management activities.
- Take an active role in identifying and reporting clinical risk.
- Contribute to standard setting within the organisation.
- Commit to continual personal development (CPD) and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice is followed.
Administrative
- Effectively manage own time, workload and resources.
- Comply with the UAE medical health authorities’ requirements in order to maintain medical licence.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of computer-based patient records.
- Ensure confidentiality in all aspects of data management relating to patients, carers, colleagues, and other healthcare workers.
Managerial
- Assist the Clinical/Medical Director and CMO with recruitment of new staff when required.
- Assume other administrative or clinical duties as needed
- Be willing to deputise and delegate when appropriate.
- Support colleagues with the smooth running of the hospital by providing cover and assistance, during periods of absence.
- Welcome calls (although infrequent) from the management team, and physician on duty while out of working hours.
- Participate in an on-call rota for King’s College Hospital
Education & Qualification
- UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
- MBBS & Master’s degree/Post Graduation/ Diploma in related specialty
- CCT or completion of a recognized specialist training program is preferable.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice in similar setup post CCT/CCST or Sub Speciality Board experience in a acute and tertiary hospital.
Training, Knowledge & Skills
Supports and guides junior team.
Awareness and understanding of King’s College Hospital (KCH) policies and initiatives.
Resuscitation Certificate as per the specialty& Demonstrable ongoing and active Continues Personal Development (CPD)
Supports quality patient care by showing empathy, maintaining patient dignity, and following proper protocols.
