Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a MOH (Ministry of Health) license to join our IVF team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an operation theatre, specifically within an IVF or reproductive healthcare setting. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients undergoing IVF procedures, assisting the surgical team in the operation theatre, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care in Operation Theatre:
• Assist in IVF-related surgical procedures such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and related fertility treatments.
• Prepare patients for surgery, offering pre-operative education and emotional support.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition during surgical procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications and assist with IV catheter placement as needed.
• Collaboration with IVF and Surgical Teams:
• Work collaboratively with fertility specialists, embryologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Ensure the operation theatre is sterile and that infection control protocols are strictly followed during procedures.
• Set up and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring readiness for IVF procedures.
• Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting assessments, medications, treatments, and post-operative care.
• Ensure that all documentation complies with hospital, MOH, and legal standards.
• Post-Operative Care:
• Provide high-quality post-operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing complications, and addressing any patient concerns.
• Educate patients on recovery procedures, possible side effects, and when to seek further assistance.
• Coordinate with the IVF team to offer emotional and psychological support during recovery.
• Patient Advocacy and Education:
• Educate patients and families about the IVF process, treatment protocols, and next steps.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure patients’ rights and dignity are respected at all times.
• Offer pre-operative and post-operative education, ensuring patients understand their treatment and recovery plans.
• Clinical and Operational Support:
• Ensure that the operation theatre is fully stocked with necessary medications and equipment.
• Participate in training and development programs to stay informed on the latest IVF techniques and best practices.
• Adhere to hospital, MOH, and healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with Ministry of Health (MOH) registration in good standing.
• Experience:
• At least 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operation theatre setting.
• Prior experience in IVF or reproductive health nursing is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with IVF procedures, sterile techniques, and surgical instruments used in IVF is an asset.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent clinical skills and a strong understanding of sterile techniques and operation theatre protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability to handle a high-pressure, fast-paced medical environment while ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
• Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care, particularly in the sensitive IVF process.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist in lifting or positioning patients.
• Capable of handling the physical demands of the role, including managing medical equipment and instruments.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ras al-Khaimah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Operation Theatre in an IVF Healthcare facility: 3 years (Required)

Language:

• English/Tagalog/Hindi/Malayalam/Arabic (Required)

License/Certification:

• MOH License (Required)
