Job Description
Job Purpose
The Quality Specialist develops, implements, and monitors the hospital’s quality management and patient safety programs. This role ensures compliance with local regulatory bodies (DHA) and international accreditation standards (JCI) to maintain the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Accreditation & Compliance: Guide departments to meet JCI, DHA, and ISO standards continuously.
- Audits & Assessments: Schedule, conduct, and document internal quality audits across clinical and non-clinical areas.
- Performance Improvement: Assist departmental heads in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitoring quality metrics.
- Data Analysis: Collect, aggregate, and analyze healthcare data to identify trends, defects, or areas for improvement.
- Patient Safety: Investigate sentinel events, near-misses, and root causes while implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Training & Culture: Conduct orientation and ongoing training sessions for staff regarding quality principles and patient safety goals.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Medicine, or a relevant scientific field.
- Certification: CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) or equivalent quality certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience specifically in healthcare quality management.
- Skills: Proficient in quality methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA), strong data analysis capabilities, and excellent command of English.
