Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conduct psychological testing and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and more.
  2. Interpret results and provide appropriate treatment plans.
  3. Provide individual or group therapy sessions for patients experiencing mental health issues, trauma, or emotional challenges.
  4. Utilize various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, psychoanalysis, family therapy, etc.).
  5. Offer crisis intervention services when necessary.
  6. Offer consultation to other healthcare professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
  7. Work with multidisciplinary teams to create holistic treatment plans.
  8. Help patients manage emotional and mental challenges through coping strategies and positive behavior change.
  9. Support patients and families in understanding mental health issues and promoting mental well-being.
  10. Stay updated with the latest developments in psychological theories, techniques, and research.
  11. May be involved in research studies to enhance psychological practices and public health strategies.
  12. Educate patients, families, and organizations on mental health issues.
  13. Conduct workshops or seminars on stress management, mental wellness, and psychological support.
  14. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  15. Write progress notes, treatment plans, and other documentation as required by regulations.
  16. Implements policies and procedures to achieve hospital’s goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, Quality/Performance Improvement.
  17. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions.
  18. Performs any other duties within his range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by the Psychiatrist or / and Head of Department.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in a clinical, counseling, or educational setting is required.
  • Experience with specific populations (e.g., children, adolescents, adults, or those with disabilities) is required.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor of Psychology / Teaching Psychology from a recognized accredited institution.
  • Specialized Certifications or training in clinical psychology, counseling, or equivalent in the specialty
  • SCFHS in Psychology as Specialist

Skills

  • Well trained on psychometric test and psychotherapy
  • Ability to speak in both Arabic & English
  • Knowledge in Computer Application
