Job Description
Provides psychological assessments and clinical interventions to individuals or groups using recognised formulations and applying evidence-based approaches while abiding by strict professional and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Conducts structured interviews, psychological assessments, and observations of patients, and identifies and diagnoses psychological, emotional, and behavioural issues in patients.
- Develops and implements treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
- Monitors client progress through regular meetings or sessions.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers to evaluate the psychological condition of clients.
- Formulates and creates personalized interventions, treatments, and management plans for clients.
- Assess clients’ risk, considering their mental health and social needs when performing interventions.
- Interacts with clients and other parties regarding performing interventions.
- Employs various treatment methods such as psychotherapy, hypnosis, behaviour modification, stress reduction therapy, etc.
- Measures the effectiveness of interventions and implement changes where required.
- Ensures the maintenance and safe storage of accurate program and client records, and all other pertinent documents.
- Maintains confidentiality of clients’ treatment and records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Participates in clinical training seminars and mentors assistant psychologists, psychology students, and interns on-site.
- Participates in activities aimed at promoting the department and its mission.
- Attends relevant internal and external continuous professional and educational activities in order to maintain skill and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of psychology and
- Master’s Degree (includes MSc, MA, M.Phil) of a minimum of two (2) years in Psychology or with a focus on Psychology provided that the Bachelor’s Degree is a minimum of four (4) years course duration
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist
Experienced with psychological assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health problems of varying severity and complexity
Proficient with planning and performing psychological interventions
Current awareness of developments in relevant fields.
Ability to maintain and complete clinical documentation consistently
