Job Description
Provides direct patient care, conducts a patient assessment and re-assessment, establishes patient goals and care plan for physiotherapy services using different therapeutic techniques without or with the utilization of assistive medical devices and/or equipment.

Responsibilities
Oversees the management of inpatients with respiratory conditions requiring physiotherapy aged 0-18 years.
Handles the respiratory management of patients with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), Neuromuscular conditions (including Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)), Tracheostomies and long-term ventilation, non-invasive ventilation (NIV) and other respiratory diseases.
Provides a highly specialist role in respiratory clinics, including non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis clinics and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) clinics.
Handles the outpatient caseload.
Provides an advisory and liaison service to patients, families/caregivers, physiotherapy
colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
Works closely with the Pediatric PuImonologist, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Respiratory therapists, and the rest of the pediatric physiotherapy team.
Provides supervision to the junior physiotherapists and staff nurses, and provides cross cover to wards, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as per the needs of the service, including late shifts, weekend working and on-calls.
Acts as a highly specialist source of expertise in the respiratory management of patients with
non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), Neuromuscular conditions (including Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)), Tracheostomies and long-term ventilation, NIV, and other respiratory diseases.
Demonstrates full compliance and the ability to follow the proper communication process and the chain of command structure in reporting patient-related incidents, complaints and/or other related issues of concerns.
Maintains full compliance with the safety requirements of physiotherapy medical equipment, performs functional and calibration checks and ensures that all medical equipment for repair is reported to the Biomedical Engineer and the follow-up repair required is processed and completed.
Demonstrates full compliance and competence to the AHO and PTO clinical policy and procedure including patient and equipment safety and the prevention and control of infection required to provide patient care.
Maintains full compliance in properly reporting all patient care-related incidents and/or customer service complaints to improve patient care services.
Participates in the department staff meetings and unit projects and implements/evaluates creative approaches to meeting goals.
Performs additional duties and/or tasks as specified and/or assigned.
Assists as a clinical resource to the patient, patient’s relatives and/or caregiver, junior Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Nursing, Speech Pathologist, and other medical staff.
Maintains the availability of physiotherapy medical equipment for patient’s utilization, performs daily and monthly inventory and ensures that these equipment are placed and/or stored in the designated areas.
Maintains full compliance with the safety and availability of physiotherapy medical supplies, minimizes medical supplies losses and reports to the Materials Management Department all supply replacements, expiry, and losses requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Physiotherapy and/or Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
Current license of practice in country of origin or country point of hire and/or Dubai Health Authority (DHA), United Arab Emirates
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-certification as a Junior Physiotherapist/Physical Therapist
Ability to speak and write in English fluently
