Job Description
The Optometrist primarily responsible is to provide general optometry care for the patients of NMCRH-KC, in addition, the Optometrist may be directed by the Medical Director, or the Head of the Department to do other related duties.
Responsibilities
3.1 Assume quality of care for all patients.
3.2 Adheres to the highest standards of practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
3.3 Perform complete eye examination, contact lens fittings and necessary.
3.4 Participate in the control of and supervision of optometry practice and dispensary in conjunction with the Medical Director and Head of the Department.
3.5 Keep current with new techniques and philosophies related to all aspects of optometry field.
3.6 Participate in quality assurance committee meetings provider meetings, and general staff meetings.
3.7 Assist the Head of the Department in establishing medical polices, quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, policies and procedures.
3.8 Maintains current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment.
3.9 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements
3.10 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.11 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
3.12 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports
3.13 Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
3.14 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
3.15 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
Qualifications
4.1 A graduate of Bachelors of Science in Optometry or its equivalent (diploma).
4.2 At least two (2) years of experience.
4.3 Currently licensed in country of origin and with HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
4.4 Fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
