Role Description The Operation Theatre Scrub Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Muscat, responsible for providing professional nursing support during surgical procedures. Day-to-day duties include preparing the operating room and instruments, verifying and organizing surgical equipment and supplies, and maintaining strict aseptic technique throughout procedures. The Scrub Nurse assists surgeons directly during operations, manages surgical instruments and materials, and participates in counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Relevant nursing qualification (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing) and current professional registration or eligibility for registration in Oman.
• Proven experience as a Scrub Nurse or in operating theatre nursing, preferably in a multispecialty or surgical-focused hospital.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, sterile techniques, and infection control standards.
• Demonstrated ability to handle surgical instruments, prepare OT equipment, and support a range of surgical procedures safely and efficiently.
• Sound clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety, including accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities, and remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts as required by operating theatre schedules and participate in continuous professional development.
