Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital is seeking a dedicated Specialist Ophthalmologist to join its Ophthalmology service. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive general ophthalmology care across outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting service demand, and managing a broad range of eye conditions. The specialist will work closely with consultant ophthalmologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of general ophthalmic conditions across outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Perform ophthalmic assessments, treatments, and procedures within the scope of Specialist practice.
  • Support national service and community ophthalmology demand under consultant supervision when required.
  • Collaborate with consultant ophthalmologists, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care.
  • Participate in on‑call duties in line with service requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Contribute to clinical quality initiatives and evidence‑based practice.

Qualifications

  • Board‑certified Specialist Ophthalmologist or equivalent qualification.
  • Solid experience in general ophthalmology practice.
  • Ability to work effectively within a consultant‑led service model.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eligibility for DOH Specialist licensure.
