Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH), part of the M42 network, is seeking a Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary team. The role involves providing comprehensive surgical and clinical care across a wide range of maxillofacial conditions, ensuring high standards of patient care aligned with international best practices. SSBZH is a JCI-accredited facility delivering advanced, patient-centered care to the Northern Emirates community.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of oral and maxillofacial conditions, including facial trauma, infections, tumors, and congenital anomalies.
- Perform surgical procedures such as extractions (including impacted teeth), dental implants, orthognathic surgery, and minor/maxillofacial reconstructive procedures.
- Provide pre-operative assessment, informed consent, and post-operative care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage maxillofacial emergencies and participate in on-call coverage as required.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ENT, plastic surgery, oncology, and dental services to deliver integrated care.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in continuous medical education, clinical audits, and departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Degree in Dentistry (DDS/DMD or equivalent) with a recognized specialty qualification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Minimum 2-3 years of post-specialty experience in a hospital or specialty clinic setting.
- Valid DOH license (or eligibility) to practice as a Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Proven surgical expertise across dentoalveolar, trauma, and maxillofacial procedures.
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
