Medical Sales Representative – Ophthalmology (Qatar & Oman)
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Medical Sales Representative – Ophthalmology to manage and develop our business across Qatar and Oman. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, strengthening relationships with ophthalmologists, clinics, hospitals, and healthcare professionals, while ensuring effective territory management and execution of company strategies.
This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel within the assigned territories, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering value to healthcare professionals and patients.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Responsibilities
- Execute the marketing plans and strategies established by management in coordination with the direct supervisor.
- Introduce new products and support the development and growth of existing product lines.
- Stay informed about industry trends, scientific developments, and market updates through continuous research and professional learning.
- Regularly share relevant clinical studies, articles, and product information with healthcare professionals and customers.
- Conduct product training sessions for physicians, practitioners, nurses, and clinic staff.
- Maintain a professional company image through ethical conduct, superior product knowledge, and effective communication.
- Address customer inquiries professionally and provide accurate product-related information.
- Manage customer complaints in coordination with the Sales Manager and relevant departments.
- Monitor competitor activities, products, pricing strategies, promotional offers, and market positioning.
Sales Responsibilities
- Promote and sell the complete ophthalmology product portfolio according to company standards and sales procedures.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets within the designated territory.
- Conduct a minimum of 15 quality sales calls per day, engaging healthcare professionals through scientific discussions, product updates, and business development activities.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, product presentations, quotations, negotiations, order collection, and follow-up.
- Prepare quotations and offers in accordance with company pricing policies.
- Obtain supervisor approval for special pricing requests or discounts.
- Follow up on customer payments professionally and ethically.
- Maintain continuous engagement with existing customers while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Troubleshoot product-related issues and coordinate with management to ensure appropriate resolution.
- Ensure ongoing follow-up and support for all products sold.
Territory Management & Administration
- Efficiently manage and optimize time, travel, and resources within the assigned territories.
- Maintain accurate customer records, account histories, and documentation.
- Develop and execute monthly territory plans in coordination with the supervisor.
- Submit timely and accurate daily activity and sales reports.
- Continuously map and evaluate the territory to identify growth opportunities and maximize market coverage.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Healthcare, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
Experience
- 1–2 years of sales experience, preferably within the medical device, or healthcare industry.
- Experience in ophthalmology sales is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in utilizing digital tools and business hardware.
- Ability to quickly acquire extensive product and industry knowledge.
