Position Overview:
The Medical Sales Representative promotes the company’s healthcare portfolio to healthcare professionals and achieves defined sales objectives. The role manages assigned accounts, executes approved promotional plans, and maintains professional relationships with prescribers, pharmacists, and key opinion leaders to ensure effective product positioning. The postholder prepares and follows call plans, records interactions in the CRM, and provides timely market and customer insights to the Brand Manager to support brand strategy execution. All activities must comply with company SOPs and applicable regulatory and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Strategy and Call Planning
- Collaborate with the Brand Manager to develop and execute a territory business plan aligned with brand objectives.
- Prepare and maintain structured call plans, ensuring effective coverage and frequency of visits.
- Record and update all field activities in the CRM system in line with company standards.
Customer Engagement and Scientific Promotion
- Deliver approved product information to healthcare professionals through face-to-face and digital interactions.
- Conduct structured detailing sessions, presentations, and sampling activities in line with promotional guidelines.
- Support disease awareness and therapeutic education activities as required.
Sales Performance and Activity Management
- Achieve assigned sales targets and activity KPIs within the designated portfolio.
- Monitor territory performance against objectives and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Track pipeline opportunities and ensure timely reporting through the CRM system.
Key Stakeholder and KOL Management
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and other influential stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted field resource, ensuring consistent engagement and long-term professional partnerships.
- Provide feedback from KOL interactions to support brand planning and tactical adjustments.
Market Insights and Reporting
- Gather competitor intelligence, prescribing trends, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
- Provide timely and actionable insights to the Brand Manager and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas and regulatory requirements.
Events and Professional Education
- Represent the company at scientific congresses, round tables, workshops, and training programmes.
- Support the organisation and delivery of professional education activities for healthcare providers.
- Participate in internal training and continuous professional development to strengthen scientific and commercial capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory teams to ensure consistent messaging and compliant promotional activities.
- Share market insights and customer feedback with internal stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives that enhance overall business performance.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a related scientific discipline; an advanced degree in Business or Life Sciences is an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Medical Sales Representative in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or healthcare industry within the GCC.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales and activity targets.
- Valid UAE driving licence and willingness to travel within assigned areas..
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic areas relevant to the company’s portfolio.
- Proficiency in using a CRM system for call planning, activity recording, and pipeline tracking.
- Ability to analyse sales and market data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC healthcare regulations, compliance frameworks, and industry standards.
- Competence in delivering scientific presentations and conducting structured detailing sessions, both face-to-face and digitally.
