Role Description The Medical Insurance Coder at Luminous Dental Lab is a full-time, on-site role based in Sharjah. This role is responsible for reviewing dental and medical records, assigning accurate codes, and preparing insurance claims in line with relevant regulations and payer requirements. Day-to-day tasks include verifying patient information, ensuring documentation supports billed services, and resolving coding-related claim issues or denials. The Medical Insurance Coder collaborates closely with dentists, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure timely, compliant claim submission and efficient reimbursement. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, payer policies, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Coding Experience and Medical Coding skills, with the ability to accurately assign codes for dental and related medical procedures.
- Knowledge of Health Information Management practices and familiarity with medical record documentation standards.
- Strong understanding of Medical Terminology relevant to dental and medical insurance coding.
- RHIT or similar health information credential is preferred.
- Experience working with insurance claim systems, billing software, and payer guidelines.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify and correct discrepancies in documentation and claims.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field; prior dental or medical insurance experience is an advantage.
