Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role based in Riyadh. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, process specimens, and operate diagnostic equipment in accordance with established protocols. Responsibilities include preparing reagents and samples, ensuring accurate and timely test results, and documenting findings in the laboratory information system. The role involves maintaining laboratory equipment, monitoring supplies, and supporting quality control and quality assurance activities. The Laboratory Technician will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment while following strict safety and infection-control guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills, including specimen handling, test performance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Experience working with laboratory equipment and instruments, including operation, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of quality control practices and laboratory quality assurance processes.
- Well-developed analytical skills to interpret test results, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Recognized qualification or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field; relevant professional certification or licensure as required by local regulations.
- Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Understanding of infection prevention, safety standards, and proper handling of biological specimens and hazardous materials.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts or extended hours as needed to support patient care services.
