Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of image-guided interventional procedures including vascular and non-vascular interventions (e.g., angioplasty, embolization, drainage procedures, biopsies, chemoembolization, ablation).
Interpret imaging results relevant to interventional radiology and provide expert consultation to referring clinicians.
Lead interventional radiology services and ensure timely patient access to minimally invasive procedures.
Supervise and guide junior staff, radiographers, and interventional technologists in all procedural aspects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, especially in oncology, nephrology, hepatology, trauma, and vascular surgery.
Participate in hospital quality improvement programs, clinical audits, and peer reviews.
Ensure compliance with SEHA’s infection control, radiation safety, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, outcomes, and patient follow-ups in the electronic health system.
Support education, research, and training activities within the department and SEHA academic programs.
Actively contribute to the development of interventional radiology services, protocols, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Completion of residency training in Radiology and fellowship in Interventional Radiology.
Board Certification (e.g., American Board of Radiology with IR fellowship, FRCR with IR specialization, CCT UK, or equivalent).
Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) Consultant License in Interventional Radiology or eligibility to obtain it.
